Tips to finding the right car for you

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

Trying to find a great car that you can afford, and lok great driving can be difficult if you are not careful. Sometimes when people start car shopping they are blown away by all the new technology that has become available since the last time they purchased a car. Since this can be som overwhelming for some, they like to purchase the first car they see, since they “have to have that car”! Here are a few tips that will surely help you save money, time, and also get you into the perfect car for you!!

  • What do you use your car for? How many people do you carry around? How long do you drive daily? What type of safety features are you needing or wanting? Do you want a manuel or automatic transmission? Will your car fit into your garage or is it easy to park?
  • How much can you afford? Try not to allow the total of your monthly payment be more than 20% of your take home value. Print out this information and use it to your needs when haggling with a car salesman.
  • Do you want to buy or lease a car. There are several advantages to both sides, but you will have to make a decision. Leasing a car allows you to get a new one every couple of years, you are only allowed so many miles each year, cheaper payments, don’t have to worry about trade-ins. Buying a car out right allows you to sell whenever you want, no penalties for mileage, watch interest rates, once the car is paid for it belongs to you.
  • Research your options. By now you are already pretty sure about the types of cars that you are interested in. Now is the time to start narrowing down your decisions.
  • Make an appointment to test drive a new car or several that fits your interest and your budget.
  • After you have test driven a car, leave the lot quickly, and go test drive another. This way you are driving different cars back to back and you will be able to decide which car you like the best.
  • Congradulate yourself now that you have done your research and hopefully have found a car that you will be happy with for several years to come.
  • Don’t forget to purchase a new Texas Car Insurance policy for your new ride!!!!

Many people go outside a few minutes early when its cold to start their vehicles to allow them a few extra minutes to heat up before the owners get in and drive off. You should aware, that this is illegal. You can receive a ticket and a hefty fine up to $500.

Keep in mind that just because its cold outside you are going to have to dress a little warmer, or have to just deal with being cold while your heater warms up and then continues to warm you up. Motorcycle Insurance

Friday, January 18th, 2008

The are many people in Texas who like to feel the wind in their face, the sun on their backs, and the freedom of riding their motorcycle in the spring time. No matter what you drive as long as you are in Texas you must have a Texas Insurance policy, whether you drive a car, truck, motorcycle, or 18-wheeler, you have to have Texas Vehicle Insurance.

There are huge debates going on now wanting the laws to be changed for the people who ride motorcycles without proper helmets and head protection. Cyclists around are arguing the fact that helmets being worn should be a personal decision not a law that must be followed. One person commented that helmets don’t stop an accident from happening, careful drivers do. If you, a motorcycle driver, were to take a driver safety cource, you will be better prepared in what to do in a “slippery” situation. Just because you have a helmet on, doesn’t mean the driver that hits you won’t be drinking and driving. You can predict what other drivers are doing while they are driving or what they did prior to driving. You can only control what you are doing during and before you get on your motorcycle.

Helmet use is strongly encouraged no matter what your age is, but if you choose not to wear one, that should be your choice. Texas Vehicle Insurance offers a number of coverages for all types of vhicles. Take a few minutes to get your free quote today!!!

World’s Cheapest Car

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

The World’s Cheapest Car has just been introduced in India, by and Indian car maker. This car is only 10 feet long and can carry up to four people, the driver and three passengers. The Nano, is great on gas mileage, getting about 50 miles per gallon.

Granted you can purchase this car brand new for around $2,500, you will have to make some sacrifies when riding in the Nano. This car does not come equipped with a radio, period. If you have to drive long distances to work each day, you may want to purchase an alternative way to listen to music. Plus, this car does not come with an air conditioner either. You may be letting the wind run through your hair, with the windows down, during the summer months, but hey, you could have your brand new car paid off in a matter of months. Some people could even wait until they received their tax refund at the end of the year and purchase this car and not have to worry about making payments.

Don’t forget, when you buy a new car, thats a great time to start shopping for new Texas Car Insurance. Don’t be caught driving your brand new Nano without proof of insurance. Then you will have to worry about being thrown in jail, paying hefty fines, and your car being towed.

Gap Insurance for Texans

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Do you have Gap Insurance on that new car you just purchased? Have you ever even heard about Gap Insurance in Texas? Do you know what Gap Insurance covers? Well, Gap Insurance is a special insurance many people like to purchase when they buy a new car, or even lease a new car. When you purchase a new car, the moment you drive off the show room lot, your car goes down in value.

Let’s say Sally gets a loan for $30,000 to buy the new car she has been wanting for a real long time. Once Sally and her new car have signed all the paperwork and driveway, Sally’s car is now worth $25,000. Sally drives her car around for several weeks, and is involved in a serious car accident that totals her car. Luckily Sally had Texas Car Insurance, but it didn’t completely pay for her loan. Her Texas Car Insurance only paid her for the $25,000 that her car was worth. She still owes her bank another $5,000 for a car she doesn’t even have anymore. This is where Gap Insurance comes into play. Gap Insurance pays for the “gap” in between what Sally agreed to pay for the car, and what Sally’s car was worth at the time of the accident. Therefore, Sally’s Gap Insurance is going to pay her bank the $5,000. Now she is clear of the car and is safe to move on with her life.

Vehicle Fires and Texas Car Insurance

Friday, January 11th, 2008

There are some counties now adopting to bill your Texas Car Insurance company if they respond to a vehicle accident, or fire to your home. If you are involved in an accident and call 911, 90% of the time a fire engine will respond to the call and arrive on scene. Fire Departments get their funding from a number of places, but most do not bill insurance companies if they respond to an accident. This money is normally collected from us, the taxpayers. In order for the taxpayers to stay somewhat happy, this is the reason for the fire departments are starting to bill the insurance companies, including the Texas Car Insurance Companies.

Take a guess at how much a pair of latex gloves cost per pair. You can usually purchase these gloves at a department store, pharmacy, or paint store. Most latex gloves come in a package of ten singles and can be purchased for a few dollars. Did you know the average fire department charges more than $8 per pair if they come to a crime scene and put a pair of gloves on? They don’t even necessarily have to touch you, either. You can probably go out yourself and buy 4 packages of ten gloves enclosed for $8. Some fire departments are even charging more than $30 for a bag of absorbent (kitty litter) to soak up spills, such as water. How much can you buy a bag of kitty litter for? Usually uner $7 per bag, depending on where you make your purchase.

Be aware that if you are involved in an accident and your local fire department is called to the scene, be prepared your Texas Car Insurance companies may have to foot the bill. It is a good thing we all own a Texas Car Insurance policy, right?
