Safe Traveling Tips

With the holiday season knocking on our doors, there is alot of commotion starting up. Most people are busy buying gifts for their families, planning their trips, getting the holiday meal menu organized, and doing last minute chores around the house. Some of us will travel to see loved ones, some will travel hundreds of miles, while the rest will stay home and wait for their family members to come to us. Whatever is in your holiday plans for this year, it is important that you are prepared and ready. The holiday season is very stressful for the majority of us and some of the most important safety regulations we might either forget to check or just might simply not even think about it in the first place.

  • One of the most important things to check before you start your journey is to make sure your Texas Car Insurance is up to date and current. Driving without auto insurance is against the law. Make sure you have a current Texas Auto Insurance card with you and in your vehicle at all times.
  • Some people rent cars for the holidays to either save the miles on their personal vehicles or just to drive something different. What many of us don’t realize is that is most cases purchasing that extra rental car insurance is unnecisary. Check with your current Texas Car Insurance Agent to see if your policy covers a rental car. Also some major credit card companies offer rental vehicle insurance, so you may want to check on that. If you are still unsure whether you need to purchase the extra insurance talk with the customer service representative at the rental counter. Just be advised they are going to try to talk you into to purchasing the insurance no matter what your concerns are.

Like the above mentioned, traveling for the holidays or just traveling in general can be very stressful in any circumstance. Please be aware of the importance of safety and drive with caution. Call your Texas Car Insurance agent today and they will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have or address your concerns.
